Subscription purchase keeps resetting on Mac

In very rare cases it can happen on macOS that your purchase keeps disappearing and / or you get an error message on the subscription view that no connection to the App Store could be made.

This seems to happen when macOS’ App Store background process responsible for validating purchases gets into a confused state.

Please try the following:

  1. In the Finder, select the Go to folder… command from the Go to menu, click on
  2. In the popup, type ~/Library/Caches/ and press Enter / Return (the first character is a tilde)
  3. Delete the folder
  4. Restart your Mac
  5. You may have to click on Restore purchase in Wokabulary under Subscriptions afterward
