Wokabulary 7.3 released: Integrating Apple Intelligence!

By Gabriel —

Spring is coming, and so is a new version of Wokabulary. This time we have focused on integrating with the new Apple Intelligence capabilities.

Translate words with Apple Intelligence

Wokabulary now uses Apple Intelligence for automatic translations between more than 40 languages. In our experience, the translation capability of Apple Intelligence is not only faster but also provides better translations than DeepL, which was used before. And because Apple Intelligence translations run on your device, it also works with bad connection and in airplane mode. Please note, however, that Apple Intelligence is only available on macOS 15 and iOS 18. On older systems, Wokabulary will still use DeepL for machine translation.

Multiple Quiz Reminders

If you tend to forget (or postpone) practising your words every day, this feature is for you. You can now set up multiple quiz reminders per day. For example, you can get a notification before breakfast, one during lunchtime, another one when you usually do your coffee break, and a final one before bedtime.

Shortcuts, Control Center Actions, and Siri Integration

You can now add shortcuts for adding a new word to your Control Center, use Wokabulary in Shortcuts automations, and even place Wokabulary shortcuts on your iPhone’s action button. Wokabulary’s new shortcuts also integrate with Apple Intelligence and can be used with Siri.

Bug Fixes

  • Thai script is now displayed larger
  • Fixes a bug where using the share feature would sometimes not work with selected text
  • Fixed an issue where speech output would sometimes stop working
